Flood Relief in Quang Tri – November 10th and 11th, 2011

During the monsoon season, which begins around October and ends around February, Central Vietnam is susceptible to extreme flooding. The most vulnerable families are oftentimes very poor and live in rural, undeveloped areas. Using grant money from AmeriCares, Giao Diem Humantarian Foundation (GDHF) collaborated with local leaders in Vietnam, in the provinces of Hue and Quang Tri, to distribute flood relief supplies to families most affected. GDHF August 2008 Activities

GDHF staff organized training workshop on nutrition education and early childhood education to teachers participating in both Pediatric Nutrition and Start-up Kit projects

GDHF officially entered a partnership with the Center of Education and Humanity of Hue whose staff conduct monitoring activities at sites participating in both Pediatric Nutrition and Start-up Kit projects.

September 2007 Activities

GDHF staff helped the local programs to start the 2007-2008 Pediatric Nutrition project. A representative of AmeriCares, Ms. Shelly Malhotra, spent several days with GDHF staff and made many on-site visits to evaluate the project’s progress.
